I'm Mai! I'm a UX designer who is passionate about design as a process and strategy, and who has a penchant for research. I believe research gives me the tools and understanding to create accessible and meaningful technologies by getting at the heart of people's stories and experiences, and allows me to create responses to human problems in a thoughtful and responsible way.
I came to design from a long-standing fascination with technology and gadgets. After taking some programming classes in college, I heard about the Informatics program at the University of Washington, and was immediately drawn to the merging of creative thinking and technology skills. After graduating and working as a UX designer for a few years, I wanted to deepen my design skill set, most notably in the areas of interaction design and user research. This led me to pursue a Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction and Design.
I was born in Paris, France and moved to Seattle when I was 8 years old. As a result, I drink too much coffee and eat too much baguette slathered in butter. I'm an avid reader, a lover of movies and television and I never turn down a good meal. If you feel like we'd get along, let's chat more over a snack!
Getting my next gig! I'm trying to meet up with as many designers in the Seattle area and hear about where they work. If you're available, I'd love to take you out to coffee and pick your brain.
